AS1735 (Australian Standards)

Overview
The following are the Australian standards relates to the use of lifts within the built environment. AS1735.12 details specific requirements for people with a disability. Please note these are copyright and we cannot issue copies of them.

European Standards

En_81-80_sEN81-80 is a European Standard that governs the rules for the improvement of safety of existing passenger and goods/passenger lifts.

Workcover

The Occupational Health and Safety Regulation 2001 requires all Lifts, Escalators and Moving Walks to be registered with WorkCover NSW as defined in AS 1735 Part 1-17 (as listed in Schedule 1 of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation 2001).
